Happy Friday, friends! I hope you had a good short week. If I were president, my first executive order would be to make every weekend a three day weekend. There’s something about having an extra day to do all the things that makes the weekend feel ultra relaxing. This past weekend and week were just really, really good. I made a list of things that I enjoyed this week. I hope you find something interesting here!
ONE // HOT DOGS
We had hot dogs and mac and cheese for dinner on Labor Day! I love hot dogs and get so excited whenever I eat them. We usually try to avoid processed meat, so they are a rare treat. If you’re local to Philly, click here to read about the best hot dogs in town.
TWO // SPELLING BEE
Have you played Spelling Bee on the New York Times app? My dad and I are addicted! It is such a fun way to pass the time. It is addicting, but there is a maximum number of words you can make with the letters provided, so you won’t waste your whole day!
THREE // GULP MUG
There’s just something about this coffee mug that makes me feel like I can do hard things. It is nice and sturdy and warms up perfectly when you put some hot coffee in it. I tried to find this mug online, but the only ones that came up were way overpriced. I got mine at HomeGoods and I’m sure they will have more in your local store. I love cute kitchen stuff and hope to share more soon. Click here for a sneak peek at my morning beverage station!
FOUR // GETTING READY
At my old job, I had at least one video call a day so I always had to be presentable (at least from the waist up!). Now, I don’t have any regularly scheduled video calls. I thought that not having to get dressed and ready for the day would be great, but I think it is making me feel sluggish. So, I decided that this week I would get dressed, put on a little bit of makeup, and put on perfume. I’m not sure if it helped, but getting to smell my summer perfume every day certainly put a pep in my step.
FIVE // EXERCISE
Okay, I have worked out precisely…three times since March. All of the physical benefits of exercise are great, but I have mostly been missing the mental benefits and extra energy. This week I decided to get back into it and give P.volve another try. I made it a goal at the beginning of September to try to move more, and I honestly have been slacking. I’ll report back on progress soon!
Now, it’s off to finish up the work week and dive into the weekend! What are some things that made you happy this week?
