Read // A Pair and Spare
In case you didn’t know already, I love, love, love reading blogs. The #1 reason why I started this blog was that blogs are my favorite form of entertainment.
Back in 2011, I used to be obsessed with the blog A Pair and a Spare. Geneva had the best DIY fashion ideas and I loved her approach to putting together trendy, but affordable pieces. This weekend, her blog name randomly popped into my head and I decided to see if she was still blogging. Good news, she is! Under the name Collective Gen. Her blog has become even more inspirational over the years, and this weekend I spent a solid 2-3 hours reading through a bunch of her posts.
Check her out if you want some inspiration and cute baby pictures!
Inspired By// Embroidery
Speaking of Collective Gen, I read found this post on embroidery and went down a major inspiration rabbit hole. I’m itching to learn how to embroider and get started on a few projects. The idea of listening to an audiobook and embroidering honestly sounds like heaven!
Now the hard part, picking which projects to do first!
Loved // Carly the Prepster’s Wedding
Grab your tissues! Carly the Prepster got married! I’ve been following Carly since 2012, when Stumbleupon (does anyone remember that website?!) brought me to The College Prepster (she has since rebranded to Carly the Prepster). I’ve been following along for the past 8(!?) years, and I was so excited to see her get engaged, then – surprise! – get married in the span of the last few months. Her wedding was beautiful and so perfect for the current times.
If you’re like me and love watching wedding videos, check hers out here. Be warned, you may cry!
Ate // Crock Pot Enchilada Casserole
I have been craving Mexican food – and margaritas – constantly lately. We are trying not to each out too much, and haven’t found an ideal Mexican spot here in Philly, so I’ve been making do with some Tex-Mex or Mexican inspired dishes. I found this crockpot chicken enchilada casserole on Pinterest, and it was so easy and so good! Truly a dump and go crockpot meal. Like with anything that relies mostly on canned ingredients, I recommend doctoring it up. I added some chili powder, chipotle chili powder, garlic powder, and black pepper, which made it taste like the enchilada sauce had been homemade.
I highly recommend trying it out!
Baked // Chocolate Chip Cookies
My fiancé has been begging me to make cookies for the past month. I truly love baking, but I don’t love cleaning or being surrounded by mess, so I have kept putting it off and saying I’ll bake “next weekend.” Sorry, honey!
Well, today is his birthday! And if there’s one thing I know he wants but at this point is too afraid to ask for, it’s homemade chocolate chip cookies. So, yesterday I made him a batch of fresh chocolate chip cookies! I may have enjoyed one or seven myself 😉
I like to use this recipe, but I sub the walnuts for a cup of chopped dark chocolate. My fiancé doesn’t like nuts, but he loves chocolate!
What did you get up to this weekend?
