Cute Studio Apartment Ideas
Decorating a studio apartment can be daunting at first. It is intimidating to take one room and turn it into the perfect space to eat, sleep, work, and relax.
However, it is much easier than it looks! With a little creativity, you can easily transform your studio into a stylish and functional space.
Here are some cute studio apartment ideas to get you started:
-Use furniture to create different areas. A couch can act as a divider between the living room and bedroom. Use a bookshelf or screen to create a bit of separation between the kitchen and living area. Room dividers, curtains, rugs, and the backs of larger furniture pieces will help you easily create dedicated areas for your space.

Another idea is to use light-colored paint or wallpaper to brighten up the space. If you aren’t able to paint, peel and stick wallpaper is a great solution that can really transform your space. If you’re only in your space for a short time, use some neutral frames and artwork or photographs to brighten up the space.

Trendy Apartment Decor
Trendy apartment decor is one of my favorite things to talk about. Seriously, don’t get me started!!! I’m all about enduring spaces, but there is a time and place in your life to invest in a trend-focused space that meets you where you are.
For instance, one of my favorite current trends is the incorporation of natural elements like wood and stone. I love how these materials can add a touch of luxury to any space.
If you’re design-obsessed like me, try flipping through the latest issue of Architectural Digest and looking at all the elements that tie the spaces together. Regardless of the color palette or style, the secret to the perfect space is natural elements. Yeah, this is trendy right now, but TBH natural elements and textures will never go out of style!!!
Another big trend that I’m seeing everywhere is the use of bold patterns and colors. Couple this with the grandmillennial boom and you will have a home that is chock full of fun and trendy decor.
My favorite way to incorporate trends is through elements that you can easily remove. While handpainted wallpaper may be out of reach for your current apartment decor, you can pack a stylish punch with peel and stick wallpaper. This is such a great way to make a statement in your home without spending a lot of money.

If you’re looking for trendy apartment decor ideas, my best advice is to start small. You can always switch out pieces as trends come and go. But if you invest in big-ticket items, you’ll be stuck with them long after they’ve gone out of style.
HOWEVER, I also think that you know yourself best. Sometimes a trendy item really speaks to the decor that you know you will want to carry with you from place to place.
If that’s the case for you (aka me with anything in an antique gold or brass finish) you can definitely feel comfortable investing in something that will last you a long, long time. Or at least it will have great resale value if you change your mind.
Designing a Colorful Apartment
Have you ever walked into someone’s home and felt instantly relaxed? Or alternatively, have you ever felt like you needed to put on sunglasses before entering a home? The former is likely due to the flawless incorporation of color into the decor, while the latter is likely the result of a colorful apartment gone wrong.
When used correctly, color can be a powerful tool for creating a liveable space. Here are a few ideas for how to incorporate color into your home decor:
– Use colorful accents: A colorful rug, piece of art, or throw pillow can add instant interest to any room. This is a great option if you are worried about investing in a big-ticket item in a bold color.
– Go for a monochromatic look: If you’re not sure about mixing and matching different colors, you can always go for a monochromatic look. This can be achieved by choosing different shades of the same color. For example, you could use light blue, navy blue, and royal blue in the same room. If you love a certain color, this is a great way to make it feel less jarring. I know, I know, it seems counterintuitive to add more color to make a colorful apartment feel natural, but I promise it works!
-Another renter-friendly way to incorporate color into your apartment is through removable wallpaper. This is a great way to make a big impact without making any permanent changes to your apartment.

1st Apartment Decor
Last but certainly not least, let’s get into cute decor for your first apartment.
Moving into your first apartment is so exciting!!! Of course, cute apartment decor is going to be the first thing on your mind. Then, you see how much a couch costs. THEN, you see how much PLATES cost?!
The sticker shock can be so real when you are moving into your first apartment. Depending on your budget, there are so many options for how to make a cute apartment that is fully your own.
My first piece of advice? Plan absolutely everything out from the beginning. Seriously, everything. Once you get an idea of how much you’ll spend on everything from your forks to your toilet paper, you’ll feel comfortable (or at least realistic) about every decor decision you make.
If you have a small budget, there are so many ways to incorporate cute 1st apartment decor into your space without breaking the bank. Whether that means finding cute pillow covers to transform your mom’s hand-me-downs, or investing in a slipcover to get the white couch of your dreams, you can easily add a big visual impact to your apartment without spending a lot of money.
Cute artwork, knick-knacks, or even a coat of this super easy-to-apply paint are also great options to transform your first apartment.
However, if you do have some wiggle room in your budget… I have to admit that investing in the items that I wanted – even if that meant adding fewer extras in the beginning – was well worth it. There are places to save and places to splurge for sure!
